Rica is known as an environmental paradise for its lush faun and
floral, Lake Arenal, monkeys, tropical birds, and for its spectacular
beaches and world-class sport fishing but what it is less known for its
legalized prostitution, drug smuggling, money laundering and political
corruption. Lane Taylor is not only about to learn about the other side
of Costa Rica first-hand but he is to become an active participant. The
lure of fabulous wealth, sex and cocaine draw Lane into a tangled web of
deceit, extortion, sexual fantasy and even murder.
This
factual based novel exposes the real Costa Rica of the 1990’s and early
2000’s with its underworld connection to Colombia, Panama and Nicaragua.
Even today, in 2008, as this book published, there is no reason to
believe that this seedy world does not continue in light of the ever
booming Sex Tourism Trade flourishing and the revelation that Costa Rica
has been providing safe harbor for members of the FARC, a para-military
Marxist organization that has been in a 20-year civil war with the
Democratic government of Colombia and is now in control of Colombia’s
cocaine and heroin production.
It is at great personal risk that Steuer Gray even dares to publish this novel.
